<p>Seventy-five years ago today, a group of visionary individuals founded The Wilderness Society, an organization whose sole purpose was to protect America&rsquo;s wild heritage and all it embraced &ndash; rushing rivers, towering forests, deserts, biodiversity, scenic wonders and quiet solitude.
